My Notes

Nose:
Classic Nc'nean vibe. Lemon curd and fresh pastry. Sweet, buttery, warm. The alcohol? It doesn't play a role; it's simply not there.

Palate
Instantly sweet, instantly fruity. But then comes that oily texture, so typical of Nc'nean. It pairs perfectly with the buttery pastry note. It's as if a hint of flour, powdered sugar, and vanilla hangs in the air. The sweetness leads, the fruit (orange, lemon) brings a subtle freshness. Like a light jelly on a perfect biscuit.

Finish
Surprisingly short. The oily feeling and sweetness linger for a moment, but then it's gone. A friendly "hello and goodbye."

A whisky for connoisseurs, not for show-offs. The clear DNA of the distillery, so consistently implemented by founder Annabel Thomas, is palpable in every drop. If you appreciate honest character and a great texture, you're in the right place.

The distillery describes complexity and power. I experience charm and simplicity. Where they list a fruit stand, I taste the finished pastry. Both are true. They analyze the ingredients; I taste the result. The biggest difference is in the finish: they call it "long-lasting," I find it "surprisingly short." But that fits the theme perfectly. A teacake is a small sweet treat. A delight that sits on the tongue and then is gone. Light, delicious, and without heavy commitment.
