Or do you just nod in approval?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Facts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kavalan L\u00c1N<br><\/strong>Taiwan (Yilan) | NAS | 43% | Bourbon, Port &amp; STR Vinho Casks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nose: <br>A basket full of fruit. Sweet raisins and fresh oranges take the lead right away. Then comes a pronounced floral note, almost like a rich perfume. The cask is present \u2014 direct and assertive. There are no rough edges; everything feels polished and intensely aromatic. A nose straight out of the \u201cgreat whisky\u201d textbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Palate <br>Vanilla leads, followed immediately by red fruits. Everything moves in harmony, like a well-rehearsed performance. The cask sets the tone; the spirit follows. It tastes \u201cright\u201d \u2014 balanced and composed. It runs straight from start to finish, no detours. Technically clean, with a clear structure throughout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finish <br>The cask lingers, then the alcohol takes the lead. The flavors fade relatively quickly. What remains is a warm echo of oak and a touch of heat. A solid finish \u2014 but not one that lingers for long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Aura<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Why these colors? Floral Pink captures that almost over-the-top blossom note on the nose \u2014 orchids, roses, the full bouquet. Bright Amber reflects the radiant, clean fruit at its core. And Clean Oak? It deserves the attention because it showcases what Taiwan can do: precision. But precision can also feel predictable. It\u2019s not a revelation, not a rebel. It\u2019s an excellent whisky that fits seamlessly among the big names without ever stepping out of line. If you\u2019re looking for craftsmanship, you\u2019ll love it. If you\u2019re looking for bold character, you might keep searching.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:700\"><a href=\"http:\/\/intern\" type=\"post\" id=\"93\">Also floral \u2014 the Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Official Tasting Notes for Kavalan L\u00c1N<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Here\u2019s the distillery\u2019s official version for comparison:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nose:<\/strong> Refreshing floral and fruity aromas, including orchid, rose, jasmine, peony, and orange blossom, interwoven with creamy vanilla, chocolate, caramel, honeydew melon, and gummy candy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Palate<\/strong> Captivating orchid aromas mingle with rose, jasmine, peony, and orange blossom, layered with creamy vanilla, chocolate, caramel, honeydew melon, and gummy candy. Added to that are biscuit malt, forest berries, cinnamon sticks, chocolate-covered cherries, hazelnut cream, and rich charred oak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Finish<\/strong> Lingering notes of nuts and cinnamon, evoking a distant forest, with subtle sweetness, a hint of sandalwood, dark spices, caramelized nuts, layers of wine-soaked oak, and a touch of pepper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Reality Check<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Kavalan paints the picture of an entire greenhouse \u2014 orchids, roses, jasmine. My experience is less botanical, more fruit-driven. Where they speak of \u201ccaptivating aromas\u201d and \u201cdistant forests,\u201d I taste a clean, well-crafted whisky. The complexity on paper is impressive; in the glass, it feels more straightforward. Those \u201clingering notes\u201d on the finish? For me, the alcohol showed up more clearly than the flavors.
